A robot is an intelligent agent that can perform mechanical tasks alone or with assistance. In practice, a robot is usually an electro-mechanical machine that is guided by computer programming and electronics. The robots can be autonomous or semiautonomous, and come in two basic types: those used for research in humans and systems, such as ASIMO and Topio, as well as more defined and specific roles, such as robots and swarm and Nano Auxiliary robots are used to make or move things or doing household chores or dangerous, such as industrial robots or mobile services. Another common feature is that, by its appearance or movements of a robot often conveys a sense that has the intention or the agency itself.
When societies began to develop almost all production and the effort was the result of human labor. As the mechanical means of performing functions were discovered, and the mechanics and development of complex mechanisms, the need for human labor has been reduced. Machinery was initially used for repetitive tasks, such as water and increased grinding grain. With advances in technology more complex machines evolved slowly, as invented by Hero of Alexandria (Egypt) in the first century and the first half of the second millennium after Christ, as Al-Jazari in the 12th century automata (in the Age Media Iraq). Not widely adopted human labor, especially slave labor was still cheap compared with machines capital intensive. Men like Leonardo in 1495 by Jacques de Vaucansonin 1739, and to rediscover the methods of engineering, has made plans to build robots and robots, which leads to the books of designs such as the Japanese Karakuri zui (Illustrated Machinery) in 1796 . Because mechanical techniques developed through the industrial age we find more practical applications, such as Nikola Tesla in 1898, designed a radio-controlled torpedo, and the Westinghouse Electric Corporation Televox creation in 1926. From here we also find a more androids as designers tried to mimic the characteristics similar to humans, including designs, as the biologist Makoto Nishimura in 1929 and his creation Gakutensoku, crying and facial expression changed, and raw Elektro Westinghouse in 1938.
Electronics became the engine of development rather than the mechanics, with the arrival of the first electronic autonomous robots created by William Grey Walter in
Man has developed an awareness of the problems associated with autonomous robots and how they act in society. Fear of behavior of the robot, like Shelley's Frankenstein, and rats, the current practice of the unit, which is a robot autonomy should and should not be able to do. Thinking is developed through analysis of robot control and artificial intelligence (AI) and how its application for the benefit of society, such as those based on Asimov's three laws. Practice still leads to the development and robots are used in a variety of tasks such as vacuuming floors, mowing lawns, cleaning of drains, the investigation of other planets, building cars in the entertainment and war.
